NRCME Online Training Course:
This NRCME Training is designed to meet the requirements of the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners Training Program (The National Registry) which requires medical examiners to be certified to conduct medical examinations for drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) operating in interstate commerce.
“This ME training course conforms to FMCSA’s training curriculum modules and topics on regulations and guidelines for conducting CMV driver medical examinations. FMCSA regulations and guidelines are reviewed regularly, and the training is updated as required. This course was last updated on November 30, 2014.”
To achieve certification, medical examiners need to be trained and tested on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) physical qualification standards. The purpose of the training and certification is to enhance the medical examiner’s ability to determine if a driver is medically qualified to safely operate and meet the demands of CMV driving operations.
Depending on familiarity with computer-based courses and the material, the average time to complete the course is 12 hours.
Medical Resources Management Systems, LLC is approved as a provider of nurse practitioner continuing education by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners: AANP Provider Number 130323. This program has been approved for 12.0 contact hours of continuing education (which includes 0 hours of pharmacology).
There are a total of 15 modules. The final module is a 117 item review test that includes scenarios the medical examiner may encounter when performing CMV driver physical examinations. This NRCME training course consists of PowerPoint presentations, links to FMCSA website content specific areas, tables and quizzes.

Once you have completed the NRCME training, you are qualified to sit for the NRCME certification examination.
